(Short Release)
Sergio Brinatti’s “Derived Memories” It’s an ongoing series where the artist explores a range of substrates to create a figurative and abstract take on human biology and its impact on nature. A profoundly personal series that raises a relevant and current dialog about our times. The creative endeavor occurs with a system of repeated elements, such as the usage of electronic parts juxtaposed with nature. Representing the synthetic and the organic—how we have implemented technology into our lives and how it affects our relationship with the world around us. In short, the artist abstractly imagines these organic shapes as a representation of early versions of ourselves, often striving to leave something behind in order to evolve and move forward.
Attempting to communicate pivot moments of self-discovery, life-changing events, personal transformation, etc. Such moments are deeply embedded in this series and that at first glance, can perhaps be missed out. “Even though symbols are used throughout the work, meaning arrives in different ways as we all perceive things differently—Interpretation brings the work forward on many levels. It’s brilliant!”
