(Short Release)
How do we deal with information overload and how is cognitive bias used to simplify and process information in order to create meaning? These were some of the initial questions I had as I elaborated on this series. The sense that information can be excessive and have negative effects is not new to us. We don’t quite know the origins of this terminology, but scholars argue that it most likely came from the social scientist—Bertram Gross, suggesting that high amounts of information could have negative outcomes when making decisions or completing tasks. Therefore, with the high trend of minimalistic visual styles in the art scene, I've decided to explore this very relevant and current area of social psychology. Creating a series of over 50 images to understand and trigger the mechanisms we use to deal with this system of information.
